Tobago Emergency Management Association (TEMA)

Capacity building, research and sharing best practices are part of TTALGA’s key functions. It is against that backdrop that as a local government authority, we continue to facilitate tours of the Tobago Emern ngency Management Association (TEMA) for the heads of municipalities as well as chairmen of Public health committees and Disaster Coordinators at the respective Regional Corporations.

The objective of this exercise is to assist their Trinidad counterparts by observing TEMA’s operations with the hopes of standardizing and establishing best practices through policy recommendations. The first of such an initiative was embarked upon in January of 2015 with a visit to the Tobago Emergency Operations Center (TEOC) located at Fairfield Complex, Bacolet Street, Scarborough, Tobago. 

The information shared continues to play a vital role in standardizing the functioning of disaster operations and relief activities with the view to bringing them on par with their Tobago counterparts.
