Advocacy Meeting - Sept 11th 2025

The Executive of TTALGA, under the astute stewardship of its Chairman, Akeliah Glasgow-Warner, Vice Chairman, Doodnath Mayhroo and Finance Chairman, Josiah Austin initiated an advocacy meeting held September 11th 2025 (accompanied by all Mayors and Chairmen) the negotiating team  held critical discussions on compensation and arrears following the 120th SRC Report.

This successful meeting was supported by the Minister of Rural Development and Local Government, the Honourable Khadijah Ameen, and involved the Acting Permanent Secretary Mr. Peter Mitchell, and Chief Personnel Officer Commander Dr. Daryl Dindial.

We take this opportunity to offer our sincerest and deepest gratitude to them all, while not forgetting the support staff of the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government for their cooperation; this organized and focused approach allowed for a truly productive and meaningful session. TTALGA felt truly engaged and heard, and this was due to the wonderful efforts of all involved.

This meeting also represented a significant step toward addressing matters that impact local government stakeholders, and we believe this will no doubt, strengthen future collaborations among all parties.
