The Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation (TPRC) officially launched "Tunapuna Week 2025" on Friday November 14th, beginning with an Interfaith Service at the St. Charles R.C. Church. The week of activities then kicked off with a message from TPRC Chairman and TTALGA Executive Committee Member, Councillor Josiah Austin when he opened with "Pan and Powder in Puna". This memorable event saw the attendance by the President of Pan Trinbago, Mrs. Beverly Ramsey-Moore and its Chairman, Mrs. Precious Gilbert-O'Brien along with other distinguished representatives from the organization. Activities included Moko Jumbies and featured steelband music from the Augmented Steel Orchestra, the Tunapuna Tipica Steel Orchestra, and ended with Exodus at their Republic Bank panyard in Tunapuna. Military Parade

The week continued on Sunday 16th with a Military Parade from Constantine Park from the Macoya Main Road to the Eastern Main Road, ending at Auzonville Road, Tunapuna.
The day's event included a reception with the Greater Tunapuna Chamber of Industry and Commerce which extended their sincere thanks to the TPRC Chairman for his continued leadership and partnership. Representing the Chamber were Mrs. Nardia Kanhai-Bachan, Secretary; Ms. Neela Maharaj, PRO; and directors, Mr. Neil Boodoosingh and Mr. Vinai Charran.
Senior Citizens Outreach

Over the next few days a series of other events included Senior Citizens Outreach from Monday 17th to Tuesday 18th. The TPRC team made visits to the Golden Eon Senior Citizens Accommodation Limited at Maracas/St. Joseph; Hollis Elderly Home in Five Rivers; and J’s Nursing Home in Macoya.
Support activities addressed key issues such as physical and personal and health care, along with a hamper distribution and some light entertainment that certainly helped to spread joy and comfort to all. (Click here for more).
Municipal Police Post

After the Community Connection Activity on Wednesday 19th, a commissioning ceremony of the Municipal Police Post on Thursday 20th was conducted for the newly renovated Tunapuna Municipal Police Post, while also unveiling an advanced CCTV Surveillance Room. This marked a major milestone in the rollout of the TPRC's Building Trust Through Vigilance (BTV) Programme which seeks to strengthen safety, monitoring, and community trust across the Tunapuna/Piarco region. In attendance for this momentous occasion was the Honourable Khadijah Ameen, Minister of Rural Development and Local Government and Member of Parliament for St. Augustine, along with Permanent Secretary Mrs. Annlean Innis. The 5K & Pageant

After the Staff Appreciation Day on Friday 21st., the week came to a close on Saturday 22nd, beginning in the morning with the much awaited TPRC 5K Run/Walk at the Eddie Hart Savannah and ending on the evening with the Miss Tunapuna/Piarco Pageant at the Cipirani College of Labour and Cooperative Studies in Valsayn.
This grand finale of Tunapuna Week was described as an unforgettable night of "elegance, confidence, and community pride" and "a shining celebration of the power and progress of our [TPRC's] region". The
outgoing queen, Iman Garner, Miss TPRC 2024, gracefully handed over her reign to the winner of Miss TPRC 2025, Miss Curepe/Pasea, Adaylia-Marie Beddoe.

Coming in as the 1st Runner Up was Miss Auzonville/Tunapuna, Andishire Bernard; and 2nd Runner Up was Miss St Augustine South/Piarco/St Helena, Trishana Gobin. For the full list and more photos, click here.
